Course Description

Participants will learn the neuroscience of complex sexual abuse trauma and how to heal the client in neocortex and subcortical parts of the client’s brain. Dana will focus on recognizing the cognitive, emotional, and somatic symptoms within the sympathetic nervous system and specifically how to treat each symptom with her unique assertive integrated approach. Particular attention will emphasize the impact on complex childhood sexual abuse(CCSA) on the adult client such as: parenting and relationships to self and others.  She will demonstrate how CCSA can create a pathology in children and families or generations to include, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, poverty and domestic abuse.
Dana will demonstrate how to help clients stop the generational pathology that is caused by childhood sexual abuse by working with the entire family. Dana will discuss PureOCD and the connection to complex childhood sexual abuse and taboo intrusive thoughts. There will be a special consideration on Dana’s integrated approach from the initial session to maintenance sessions with use of clinical scenarios designed to give attendees the skills needed when working with an adult child sexual abuse survivor and their families. Individual breakout sessions with experiential and practical application of Dana’s approach will be followed by group discussion of the integrated method.
