Dana Barrows, LCPC

Dana Barrows is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and private practitioner with over 20 years of experience. Through her work in social services and in private practice, she has developed an integrated method for survivors of trauma and their families, specifically adult survivors of complex childhood sexual abuse. Dana's approach incorporates CBT, Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems and Exposure Response Prevention. Her concentration is on how trauma and specifically survivors of childhood sexual abuse effects the individual, their families and their relationship with self and the world. She has a high success rate for her clients using this integrated method. Dana has been the owner of Real Solutions Professional Counseling in Randolph County IL since 2011 and in 2017 won the Southern Illinois Behavioral HealthCare Manager of the Year for outstanding commitment to Medicaid members by the IL Association of Medicaid Health Plans. Through her private practice she serves as an educator, consultant, clinician and clinical supervisor. She is well known in her area as a dynamic speaker and discusses her own experience as an adult recovering from complex childhood sexual abuse. She has presented at the Governor’s Conference on Aging and Wellness in Chicago IL, several universities, schools, hospitals, and professional organizations throughout the State of Illinois and as served as a Crisis Intervention Trainer for Illinois Law Enforcement (SILEC). As a global webinarist she trained mental health and medical professionals to use this method  in Europe, Australia, Canada, the UK and the USA for Essential Therapy Training.  She resides in the United States in Southern Illinois with her rescue dogs, Ellie and Sugar.
